Foundations Estimator

We are a fast growing industrial contacting company seeking a hard working Foundations Estimator. This is a full-time, permanent employment opportunity. You must be willing to work 40+ hours. We offer benefits and 401K.

Pits & Foundations Estimator:

·         Must have thorough knowledge of concrete construction theories and practices. 

·         Must have 5 years experience estimating commercial and/ or industrial concrete work.

·         Degree in Engineering or Construction related field preferred.

·         Computer skills must include: Microsoft Excel, Word. Typing skills are a plus.

·         Excellent communication skills.  

Pits & Foundations Estimator Tasks:

·         Develop cost estimates based on blueprints or measurements of existing conditions:

·         Develop foundation design for equipment from machine drawings.

·         Interface with Purchasing Department to get current price data, order long lead items.

·         Relay information about cost estimate to Coordinator.

·         Attend pre-bid walk-throughs as required.

·         Interface with sales department, project managers and department coordinator

Pits & Foundations Estimator Knowledge, Critical Skills, and Abilities:

·         Extensive knowledge of the Concrete & Excavation trades

·         Must be familiar with concepts behind earth retention systems

·         Complete understanding of heavy construction process and how trades interact

·         Must have a valid Driver’s License and a good driving record

System Administrator

System Administrator

Reporting to the IT Operations Team Leader, the System Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.

This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology. These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle.

Responsibilities

·         Engineering of SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.

·         Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.

·         Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.

·         Contribute to and maintain system standards.

·         Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks.  Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.

·         Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

·         Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.

·         Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

·         Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.

·         Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.

·         Provide Tier II/other support per request from various constituencies.  Investigate and troubleshoot issues.

·         Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.  Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

·         Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.

·         Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.

·         Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.  Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

·         Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

·         Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

·         Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or equivalent experience.

·         Microsoft Certification(s) in Server discipline.

·         Four to six years system administration experience.

·         Basic networking knowledge

·         Interest in learning new technologies

·         Ability to travel

·         Participation in On Call rotation may be required

Pluses

·         Experience with LabTech or other remote monitoring and management (RMM) software.

·         Experience with installing low voltage cabling.

·         Experience with scripting in Linux and Windows.

Controls Technician
