Lee Contracting is excited to announce we are now a member of the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association. We join more than 1,300 members from 46 nations who make up the SC&RA. Since the beginning of 2017, they have welcomed 58 new members. The body of the SC&RA “specialize in transportation, machinery moving and erecting, industrial maintenance, millwrighting and crane, and rigging operations.”
Each year SC&RA offers many opportunities for the industry’s decision-makers to network, learn and participate in committee discussions which serve to help define their advocacy goals. Ken Nord, Director of Business Development at Lee Contracting is excited by our membership in the SC&RA. He says, “Having this ability to meet with and network with other industry professionals will provide our company many significant opportunities. We look forward to building these relationships this year and into the future.”
SC&RA aims to advocate, educate and provide networking opportunities to the industry. Their mission is to help members to run more efficient and safer businesses by providing education, events, webinars, safety manuals and reference tools. They also host a specialized transportation symposium, a crane & rigging workshop and an annual conference each year for members to attend.
Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association was founded in 1947 as Heavy Haulers, Machinery Movers and Erectors. At their inception, they were a segment of the Local Cartage National Conference. As their membership grew they started bringing in crane and rigging companies and in 1981, they officially changed their name to Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association.
